A few weeks ago we told you about Mijas and its popular Tapas Route. Well, this beautiful white village once more is the topic of this week’s blog entry as its fair is about to start.
This 2013 from the 5th till the 9th of September Mijas celebrates its annual fair in honour of its patron saint, Virgen de la Peña.
During these special 5 days there will be many activities in the village like concerts, a flamenco festival, a parade for children, fashion shows or the now traditional beauty contest “Miss Mijas 2013”.
The 8th of September is the most important day in Mijas as it is the day of the Patron Saint and therefore the Virgin is taken out on a parade through the main streets of Mijas from 21:30 P.M. If you have never visited Mijas or you have have never seen a typical Spanish religious parade, Hotel Angela, your hotel in Fuengirola, recommends you not to miss the opportunity to visit Mijas this Sunday, we are sure you will love the experience.
As we explained in the previous post about Mijas getting there is very easy as there is an excellent bus service from Fuengirola bus station to Mijas with buses running every 25 minutes.
Another way to get there could be by car taking the Mijas – Fuengirola A-387 road or by taxi available by our hotel entrance.
Anyway, if you have any doubt about how to get there you can always ask at our reception desk and our team will kindly help you.
Enjoy the fair!
