Many of you who are loyal guests at Hotel Angela might already know that Fuengirola is one of the places on Costa del Sol offering the biggest support to local gastronomy. Not long ago on our Facebook page we told you about the “Erotic Tapas Route”, then last December here on the blog we told you about the Christmas cake route that was taking place in our town and about 2 weeks ago we told you about “La Cazuela de la Abuela”.  Tapas Route in Velez Malaga - Hotel Angela Fuengirola

Tapas routes seem to become more and more popular on Costa del Sol as many neighbouring towns also support their local cuisine. A good example of this is Velez Malaga located in the Axarquía, a region of Malaga we mentioned here not long ago when we told you about the healthy and delicious avocados that grow in there and when we recommended you to visit Nerja.

Velez Malaga is 1 hour away by car from Fuengirola and from the 14th of March till the 6th of April will celebrate the third edition of its “Tapas Route”.

In this edition there will be 21 participant establishments, being this number much higher than in previous ones as this kind of event helps them a lot as many visitors and locals will have the chance to get know them and try the food they offer.

One of the best things about this gastronomic route is its price as for only 1.80€ you will get a lovely tapa and a glass of Victoria, a fantastic beer brewed in Malaga.

The way the route works is the same as in other places as there is also a “tapas passport” that will get stamped every time you have a tapas in a participant establishment.

If you are currently on holiday at Hotel Angela, your hotel in Fuengirola, and you love tapas and tapas routes we recommend you not to miss this one. You won’t regret to include a visit to Velez Malaga in your things to do list… It is a beautiful place and you will eat amazing food there!

Enjoy!
