Pumpkin contest 2011If you are going to be with us to celebrate halloween you should also know about spanish traditions on these days. In spain on the 1st of november visits to the cementery increase to leave flowers to our beloved. It is all saints day which became a holiday to conmemorate all those saints who didn’t have a specific day in their memory. As for the 31st of October, Halloween, in Spain it is not a tradition to celebrate it. However we have been influenced over the years and so you will see some places where you will feel like at home.

For example here at Hotel Angela in Fuengirola. We do celebrate this day, which we think is fun because it brings out the creativity of those that get dressed with costumes. The decoration is also very important in halloween, so this time apart from decorating our main areas we have put a staff’s pumpkin contest into place.

 

We have enjoyed this very much. You should have seen each department making their pumpkin as excited as a kid would be. It is the first time most of them have decorated a pumpkin but if you see the results you would never guess.

Congratulations to the winners which get a dinner for the whole team. Also to all the other departments, all the pumpkins were very original and the best part was seeing how we all had so much fun with the contest.
