Fair of Fuengirola 2017

As many of you might already know the Fair of Fuengirola starts this week on Friday, the 6th of October.

For this reason and because we love sharing our lovely traditions with you that same day, the 6th of October, Hotel Angela has organised a very special free activity about the fair at 10:30 A.M.

In it we will give you information about the fair, we will inform you about what is going on in town and at the fairground, we will explain you about the traditional flamenco dress and the accessories that go with it and we will explain you what to eat and drink at the fairground during the fair.

Regarding the official programme of the fair we would like to highlight and recommend the flamenco mass in honour of Virgen del Rosario. Every year this is held on the 7th of October at 10:00 on Constitution Square, right in the city centre.  This mass is not a common one; it does have the wow factor as it is quite festive and most of the many who attend it come wearing beautiful flamenco dresses.

If you want to have fun with us and get some information about the fair, we would love to see you on Friday at 10:30 A.M. in our Snack Bar. By the way, besides good info we will also give a free glass of rebujito, the most popular drink of the fair, to all guests who attend our special activity.

Enjoy the fair at Hotel Angela!!

Fair of Torremolinos 2017

Autumn arrived only 3 days ago, but this does not mean the fun is over as the Fair of Torremolinos starts on Wednesday, 27th of September.

The Fair of Torremolinos, also known as St. Michael’s fair, will be on till Sunday the 1st of October, so if you are currently staying at Hotel Angela, your hotel in Fuengirola, we certainly recommend you to visit it.

The most important day of the fair is Friday the 29th of September, as it is St. Michael’s Day. On that day there will be a mass at midday in his honour and a lovely procession from 7:00 P.M.

In Torremolinos, as it happens in Malaga and other towns in Costa del Sol, the fair celebrations are held in the town centre during the morning and the afternoon and in the fairground from the evening till well past midnight.

As you know getting from Fuengirola to Torremolinos is cheap and easy thanks to the great train that runs along Costa del Sol.

Our fair is coming soon now! It is so exciting!

Post-holiday blues?

Are you a bit down because we are in the middle of September and your holidays are well over?

Do you miss the beautiful sun of Fuengirola and the relaxing times you had while on holiday at Hotel Angela?

Going back to your routines and the upcoming Autumn are possibly affecting your mood. Because of this, today we would like to recommend you 5 superfoods that could help you cope with post-holiday blues a bit more.

They are the following:

  • Chickpeas: Chickepeas produce serotonin, a natural antidepressant.
  • Blue fish: blue fish such as tuna, sardines or salmon are rich in Omega 3, a fatty acid that helps increase our self-esteem.
  • Bananas: If you have low energy levels bananas will give you an energy boost as they are the most recommended fruit to help us recover after physical efforts. It also contains nutrients that help our body absorb tryptophan, a substance that raises our mood.
  • Dried fruits: Dried fruits like walnuts, seeds, pistachios or almonds are rich in minerals and tryptophan, which help regulate our energy levels.

And of course…

  • Chocolate: Chocolate is famous for stimulating the production of endorphins, also known as the hormones of happiness. Chocolate is the best and most accessible antidepressant ever as it raises the brain’s serotonin levels.

If you are feeling a bit deflated these days you have 2 options: to include these foods in your shopping list or to start planning your next holiday with us at Hotel Angela.

There is no need to  say that the second option is definitely our favourite!

We hope to see you back very soon!
