More Christmas fun in Fuengirola

18Déc

There is no need to say that in Hotel Angela we all love Christmas as it is quite obvious that this is one of our favourite times of the year.

If you have decided to spend the festive season with us, apart from enjoying the amazing Christmas and New Year’s Eve Gala dinners and our Boxing Day celebration, you can also have some more Christmas fun in Fuengirola thanks to the fantastic Christmas program the Town Council has organised this year.

To begin with, today, Monday the 18th of December at 7:30 P.M. in Palacio de la Paz ( the Fairground auditorium), there is a beautiful free of charge Christmas concert by the students of the Conservatory.

In the same place, on Friday the 22nd of December, at 8:30 P.M. there will be another great and free Christmas concert, this time by the official local band.

If Nativity scenes are what you really like and you have already seen the ones we recommended here a pair of weeks ago, you might find interesting that from Friday, the 15th of December, there is an endearing exhibition about nativity scenes in Museo Ciudad de Fuengirola ( near the Town Hall and Bioparc Fuengirola). The nativity scenes there have been made by children from local schools using recycled materials like egg shells, cork and plastic tops or cardboard boxes.

These cute nativities can be visited for free during the festive period from Tuesday to Sunday from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. as the museum is closed on Monday, as well as on the 24th and 31st of December.

Enjoy Christmas in Fuengirola!

Christmas in Costa del Sol

11Déc

Last week here on the blog of Hotel Angela, your hotel in Fuengirola, we told you about Christmas in Fuengirola and the vast amount of activities that our Council has organised this year to celebrate it.

This week we continue with the same topic as not only in Fuengirola there is lots to see and do during Christmas. In other resorts in Costa del Sol, like Mijas and Torremolinos, there is lots of special events programmed for December and January, so if you are planning to spend Christmas with us in Costa del Sol, you will possibly find the information we are about to share quite interesting.

On Tuesday the 12th of December there is a Christmas Concert in La Cala de Mijas. You might already know La Cala as it is on the way to Marbella, and it is quite easy to get there by bus.

Besides this concert, from Friday the 15th of December till Saturday the 6thof January there will be Christmas markets both in La Cala and in Mijas Pueblo.

On the other hand in Torremolinos, in Plaza Costa del Sol, there is a 12 metre tall Christmas tree, also a Santa’s grotto and a traditional Christmas market with crafts, food and Christmas decorations, among many other things.

Well, if you love Christmas as much as we do and you are currently here, you will easily fall into the amazing Christmas spirit that can currently be felt in Costa del Sol.

Happy holidays!

Christmas in Fuengirola

04Déc

A few days ago, on the Facebook page of Hotel Angela, your hotel in Fuengirola, we shared with you a beautiful video about the great light and music show that can be seen daily till the 6th of January in Plaza de España, in Fuengirola town centre.

There are 5 shows each day (7:00 P.M, 7:30 P.M, 8:00 P.M., 8:30 P.M. and 9:00 P.M), and one extra show at 9:30 P.M. on weekends and bank holidays.

In Fuengirola during Christmas, besides this beautiful Christmas show there are many more things to do and see.

In Plaza de la Constitución, in Fuengirola town centre, there is a charming Christmas Market with wooden huts until the 17th of December.

Plaza de los Reyes Católicos is housing Fuengirola’s official Nativity scene, though this is not the only one in town. In the headquarters of Hermandad Jesus Cautivo in Avenida Jesus Cautivo, in Los Boliches by the fairground, there is another fantastic Nativity scene that can get visited until the 6th of January on Tuesdays, Sundays and bank holidays from 11:00 to 1:30 P.M. and the rest of days from 5:00 to 8:30 P.M.

In Los Boliches there is another Nativity scene made of cold porcelain that can be visited on the first floor of Edificio Los Colores until the 6th of January.

From Friday the 8th of December the Nativity Scene of Hermandad Cristo Yacente (in Calle Camilo Jose Cela, by Bioparc Fuengirola) can also get visited from 11:30A.M. to 1:30 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.

And if music is more your sort of thing, we recommend you not to miss the fabulous free concert by Fuengirola’s Official Band and some Finnish musicians at 8:00 P.M. in Palacio de la Paz ( in the fairground) to celebrate the independence of Finland and Spanish Constitution Day.

In fewer words, in Fuengirola there are loads of things to do during the holidays, so if you are currently staying with us at Hotel Angela and you fancy experiencing how we live Christmas in Spain we recommend you not to miss the great leisure offer that Fuengirola has available for you this Christmas.
