Beach warning flags

Many of you choose to come on holiday to Hotel Angela not only because of the great weather we have here but also because of our great location right by the beach.

Beaches in Costa del Sol are some of the best in Andalusia; in fact this year here we have 24 beaches with blue flags, a certification only the best beaches in the world receive.

3 of this 24 great quality beaches are in Fuengirola, and the Los Boliches one, right opposite our hotel  is one of them.

Although it is a fantastic beach with clean water and great sand we should always be cautious and check the beach warning flags before getting into the sea.

These flags are usually displayed alone on a pole and have a traffic light colour system. A green flag indicates a safe bathing condition, a yellow one, means bathing with caution, while a red one indicates bathing is prohibited as it is very dangerous.

Now that you know about this warning system we are sure you will pay more attention and feel much safer next time you go to the beach.

It is time to enjoy the sun and have a nice swim!

The Fair of Los Boliches and the Day of Virgen del Carmen

If you have had the fortune of having stayed with us before this time of year you might already know that this week is very important in our neighbourhood, Los Boliches.

From Wednesday the 12th to Sunday the 16th of July the Fair of Los Boliches is on, so if right now you are on holiday at Hotel Angela, your hotel in Fuengirola, we recommend you to visit the fairground as that is where the fair is held.

Sunday the 16th of July is in fact the most important day of this week as it is the day of Virgen del Carmen.

Although this is celebrated by all locals in Los Boliches it is lived in a different and a more intense way as Virgen del Carmen is the patron saint of sailors and our neighbourhood back in the day was a typical fishermen’s quarter.

Being a man of the sea is a very hard and risky job, so due to the protection they believe the virgin gives them every 16th of July many of them take her out in procession as a way to express their gratitude.

This procession is considered by many as the most unique and special of the year as the Virgin ends up in the sea surrounded by boats and fireworks.

If this Sunday you are staying at Hotel Angela we would like to invite you to enjoy this celebration in the evening from our pool area.

Try not to miss one of the most beautiful celebrations in Fuengirola!

Suites in Hotel Angela

Some of you might remember that some months ago we had to close some rooms on the first floor of Hotel Angela to do some maintenance work.

At the time, we thought it would be a good idea to make the most of the fact that we were working on that and decided to do something a bit more special and transform them into suites.

We have designed them thinking of you and your needs, using the best materials in the market and decorating them with taste and love.

The first suite in fact is now all ready to be used. It is an open plan room, with spacious wardroves, two balconies, front seaviews, bath with seaviews, king size bed, sofa-bed, walk in shower, air conditioning, ceiling fan, big flat screen tv, dressing table, fridge, tea and coffee facilities and safe.

If you fancy trying it by paying a supplement next time you visit us, to make your holiday an unforgettable experience you only need to ask about availability in reception.

We are looking forward to hearing what you think about it… We hope you like it!
