Today’s recommendations are:
This is considered by many the most legendary café in Malaga city as it has been open non stop for over 84 years. What would we recommend you to order there? “Churros con chocolate” for sure! No other place makes them tastier!
Nowadays there are 2 Casa Aranda cafés in town: The original one is the one located in Calle Herrería del Rey (very close to the market we recommended you to visit last week) and a more modern one which opened in 2013 and it is located in Calle Santos near the Thyssen Museum.
To sweet toothed people Casa Mira is another “institution” in Malaga. Their specialities are Spanish nougats (turrón) and artisan ice creams, both of great quality and flavour. There are a few Casa Mira shops in Malaga, though the 3 most popular ones are the ones right in the city centre: The oldest opened in 1890 and it is located in Calle Nueva. The one in famous Calle Larios opened in 1943 and less than a year ago a new Casa Mira opened in Calle Andrés Pérez. This new establishment is no doubt the nicest of them all as the quality and flavour of their ice creams is the same but the décor is stunning and the range of gourmet products available is impressive.
Café Central is on famous Plaza de la Constitución and it is our last recommendation of the day. Although you can order lots of things there, what makes this place unique is its coffee as in this place is where the peculiar way we ask for coffee in Malaga was invented.
Its founder in 1954 was who after observing his customers’ likes decided to established different funny names to coffee depending on how much milk contained.
Well, these last 2 weeks we have recommended you a total of 6 fantastic bars / cafés in Malaga city so if next time you explore the city you get a bit hungry, you can always check our suggestions.
